today was mostly a very low key day, but we did have a couple of small pet-related adventures. i took the kids over to this small side street where we always see people sitting out sipping coffee while their pooches have play dates, and we've been dying to go over there and pet a few dogs. we will have to try this again because we saw just one pooch today...he was an adorable french bull dog whose "color scheme" was just like a boston. he looked a little like a boston who'd been hitting the gym and the beer a little too hard. he was super friendly and adorably snort-y. i love short-nosed dogs for all of the interesting verbal expressions they have...there are surprisingly a lot of different ways to snort your message :-)
this evening, the kids and i stopped by an office we pass by every day. it's one that we stop to look in the windows because there are several office cats in this office; one who looks JUST like la fu. we took a chance and stopped in, and not only did we meet four cats, we met four very nice and very accommodating ladies who were more than willing to tell us all about their office cats. they also invited us to stop in anytime, which we will do...as soon as we get some treats for the kitties. the kitty who looks like la fu...she's 25 years old!!! we could tell she was advanced chronologically just looking at her through her window, but i never would have guessed she was 25.
q abusing woody. i am not sure how i am going to do it considering the depth of q's love for this woody doll, but i am going to have to kidnap woody and toss him into the wash...he's getting a little grungy...prolly b/c q drags him everywhere and purposely rubs him in the dirt!
