today was another super low-key day. today is a public holiday, teun ng, so josh was home to hang out with us. we walked to a nearby city park this morning, josh took the kids to the pool while i went fruit/veggie shopping in the wet markets this afternoon, and then we headed to the building playground this evening.
this morning's walk was brutal. q was rubbing his eyes constantly because of the amount of sweat running into them. we have become somewhat acclimated to the humidity, but it's still a challenge. when we were trying to figure out what to do this afternoon, i checked weather.com for hong kong's hour-by-hour forecast, and that's when i saw that the apparent temp this afternoon was 102. this 102 is still easier than the 102 in texas...probably because it is shorter lived. it's most brutal in the late morning and early afternoon here. by four-ish, it's starting to cool down, which is very different from texas where the hottest part of the day is between 4 and 7 p.m.
