quinn being unbothered by the gigantic goose egg above his left eyebrow (not super easy to see here)
dinner tonight : pork spare ribs, soba noodles, sesame oil, garlic, onions, choy sum, and some delicious cantonese sauce i found in the prepared-foods isle.
my google page defaults to chinese, and i have to choose to translate it each time the page refreshes...annoying, but also funny
feral kitty...click on the pic to see it bigger...this kitty has 2/3 of a tail. i have noticed that most of the feral cats here have some sort of shorter tail. this kitty was so desperate, he was eating crackers that were left behind on the playground.
speaking of desperate, i paid 5 dollars u.s. for these knockoff honeynut cheerios at the local american market. they were worth it ;-p
the pic doesn't really do it justice, but this is one of the delicious cakes we got at a local bakery. that stuff that looks like frosting swirled in...it's actually margarine. SALTED margarine :-p
bug playing pbskids.org and looking surly (total act)
after dinner, bath, bed, i ran out to get some snacks, and i come back to find a LOT of activity. the day was boring right up until about 8:30 when quinn slammed his head into this marble ledge that is on all the window sills...he's got a HUGE goose egg/bruise, but doesn't seem to be slowed down by it. we don't know if it's jet lag's second wind or what, but quinn is fighting sleep HARD these days...it takes an hour or more to get him down for each nap and each night. it's not fun. we cannot wait until we move into our new apartment where the kids have their own rooms....that way, we will mostly have to deal with only one kid freaking out (livie seems to be able to settle quicker than quinn, but is disrupted (a lot) by his shenannigans). good times.
tomorrow, the kids and i are going to head out on a shopping adventure and then... DUN DUN DUN...we get the keys to the apartment tomorrow night, so we'll meet up with josh for that sometime around 6ish in the evening.
1. @quinn: OUCH!
ReplyDelete2. congrats in advance on getting the keys! how exciting!! can't wait to see pics of your new bigger closet! ;)
3. I'm drooling over the noodle dishes you keep making. I expect you to make them for me when you visit next year. =D
4. speaking of bakery, look for a sweet bun that has pineapple paste inside. love.it.
5. $5 for cheerios?! that's insane!
6. was at the parmer/I35 chickfila with the kids today and all I could think of was you and the kids. =( totally depressed me.
